Rule 5-210
This Rule is in response to the Federal Clery Act which requires the University to educate current and prospective students about campus resources and processes available to student victims of sexual assault. It is required by federal regulations that notification of these requirements be implemented by October 1, 2009. Interim Rule implemented at President's request. Final Rule approved by Academic Senate on 11/02/09.

Rule 4-004 (Interim)
This Rule is in response to an the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 with includes significant change to requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountabilty Act of 1996 (HIPPA). It is required by federal regulations that notification of these requirements be implemented by September 23, 2009.

Policy 1-001 POLICY ON UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS
This policy outlines the conversion to a new policies format that removes procedures and practices from official University Policy. Over time the former procedures and practices will be revised into Rules, Guidelines and Procedures.
Effective September 2008, all existing parts of the former Policies and Procedures Manual were reorganized and renumbered, and the overall set of policies was renamed as the University Regulations Library. Individual policies, formerly referred to as "PPM ###" may now be referred to as University Policy #--### (abbreviated as U-Pol ### ). A conversion chart, showing the renumbering and reorganizing, is available on the main page of the Regulations Library.

PPM 4-15 CREDIT CARDS
This policy which was last revised in 1981 is no longer valid. The policy dealt with the use of Gasoline Credit Cards and the procedures related to them. In recent years the Utah Legislature passed a bill that requires the use of State of Utah issued "fuel card" for vehicles. These cards are issued to each vehicle on campus and are administered by the University's Motor Pool. All of the cards that the University used in the past have been revoked and policy PPM 4-15 no longer applies to campus. This policy has been deleted.

PPM 8-7 UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS - Chapter VII , ACADEMIC FREEDOM TERMINATIONS AND PROGRAM DISCONTINUANCE
This policy was revised to conform with PPM 8-12 concerning grounds for dismissal. There were two substantive changes. The first change was to make it clear that the only cause for termination for a faculty member was for violation of one or more of the rules set forth in the Code of Faculty Rights and Responsibilities. The second change was if a faculty member is involved in a termination because of medical reasons, the new policy would make the final decision the decision of the President and not the Board of Trustees.

PPM 2-41 VACATION LEAVE POLICY
The most significant changes to this policy include: 1) changes regarding accrual, carryover, and payment for unused vacation leave for senior administrative and academic officers. Carryover of unused vacation is eliminated; 2) elimination of the six-month service requirement to use vacation leave or be paid for unused vacation upon separation; 3) terminology and definitions pertaining to permanent/regular employees have been updated; 4) information was added regarding Hospital employees, UUHN employees, postdoctoral fellows, medical housestaff, and instructional and research staff; 5) minor changes to maintain consistency with PPM 2-13, Reinstatement of Permanent Staff Employees.

This is a new policy that has been established to address the subject of staff employee separations and to provide guidance regarding the separation of employees under two special circumstances: when an employee fails to come to work for three consecutive work days without providing appropriate notice to the supervisor; and when an employee is unable to return to work after all authorized leave has been exhausted and there is no reasonable accommodation available that would allow the employee to return to his/her job.
